1. Sign in to Facebook and click "Chat" at the bottom, right corner of the screen to view your online friends.

1. Sign in to Facebook and click "Chat" at the bottom, right corner of the screen to view your online friends.
2. Click the name of someone you want to chat with to open the chat box.
3. Facebook Chat Emoticon code list to find the shortcut code for a face icon you would like to enter, such as a smiley face or wink face.
4. Type the emoticon shortcut code in the chat box and press "Enter." The emoticon that corresponds to the code you entered will appear in the conversation window.
